Parents often find the diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder overwhelming and want to access reliable information to educate themselves about (their own, or) their child’s difficulties and treatment needs. These are useful websites.

The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) is a mental health support and advocacy group that provides a variety of services to the public. Their website has free brochures on a variety of psychiatric disorders available to download. These include Depression, Teen Suicide prevention, and Social anxiety disorders
