Dr Costandius, a registered Counselling Psychologist, was appointed as Assistant Superintendent of Education at the Cape Town Support Centre in 1992. In 1996 he entered private practice and founded the Promed Child and Family Unit, Durbanville.
Anthony offers couples therapy, but deals mainly with individual adult, teenage or child issues - typically Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Mood Disorder, adjustmentand loss. He also offers support and guidance to parents of children with learning difficulties, developmental delays or chronic /terminal illness.
Dr Costandius is a FAMAC trained mediator - specifically assisting couples who, in the process of separation and divorce, require guidance with regard to the management of their children. He also assists in developing strategies for reuniting children with estranged parents.
Anthony has partnered with TORO Tennis Academy and has assisted a number of tennis players in improving the mental side of their game.
In 2018 Dr Costandius relocated his practice to his home on the corner of 36 Hibiscus Way and Tristan Street, Durbanville.
Since then he has focused more on dealing with the various aspects of anxiety, including therapy and parental guidance for parents. Anthony also has a strong interest in building the emotional resilience of patients. In May 2020 Dr Costandius started the publication of a weely blog that links with his FB page "Overcoming Life's Challenges"
